A huge THANK YOU goes to all who visited with us, helped us, made donations and supported the Kansasville Fire and Rescue 2010 Pancake and Safety DayWhat more could we ask for, friends, family, fabulous weather and fun. Oh and don't forget the food, lots of pancakes! The 2010 Pancake and Safety day was a huge success. The weather was perfect, we had many friends, family, and neighbors come out and enjoy themselves. We hope those who visited learned about who we are and what we do and most importantly how to stay safe. We would like to thank all our friends and neighbors who helped us, we had Flight for Life, the Racine County Dive Team and countless others who helped make this day a success. Kansasville Fire and Rescue Department Awarded Grants |
The Kansasville Fire and Rescue Department has been very successful at securing grant money in the past 4 years. With the added stress on the budgets of both the department and the Town, this grant money is a necessity to ensure that we able to continue to serve our customers. The grants we have received range from training to equipment and all awarded items would have had to have been purchased with budgeted money if they had not be awarded through grants. Our Department became serious about pursing grants in 2006. We realized that there were programs out there that would help us accomplish our goals. That year we applied to the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG) and requested to have a vehicle exhaust removal system and a breathing air compressor. In 2007 we received notification that this request was award and we made these vital improvements to our station. The exhaust system was installed and has successfully ensured that all exhaust fumes are exhausted to the outside, thus reducing the exposure of these known cancer causing toxics to our members. The breathing air compressor was ordered and currently provides us with a rechargeable breathing air supply to fill our Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). The total award for this project was $102,274, our 5 percent match was $5,151. |

Kansasville Fire and Rescue held its annual member appreciation banquet on March 20. This annual event honors the men and women of the Kansasville Fire and Rescue Department. The evening includes a dinner and awards ceremony intended to recognize the accomplishments of the departments members. In addition to our members and their spouses the event also invites local officials as well as members from neighboring departments and our other partners. This year two members were recognized for a combined 100 years of service to the department. Wally Goetz was recognized for his 55 years of service and ED Kalbas for his 45 years of service. Also recognized for 35 year of service was Mike Nolan.
